Lots of high school students fantasize about a future working in the film industry, but for some lucky teens at Berea High School, the future is now. They're part of a very special class that's already had quite an effect on transforming the looks of screen actors. ideastream® Producer Dennis Knowles introduces us to the visionary art teacher who leads this one-of-a-kind program, Jim Byczinski.
For the early part of Carrie Rodriguez's singing/songwriting career, she had a mentor in songwriter and performer Chip Taylor. Taylor pushed Rodriguez into the spotlight and provided a musical safety net by writing and producing most of her music between 2002 and 2006. But on the former Oberlin Conservatory of Music student's latest recording She Ain't Me, Carrie Rodriguez is working without a net... or a mentor. She joins us to play music in our KeyBank Studio. View a performance of Carrie Rodriguez at the Idea Center® at PlayhouseSquare.
