On this edition of Applause we look at the ART and CULTURE of sports. For many northeast Ohioans SPORTS defines who we are. A winning season unites the community...while losing can divide us. Later in the show we'll meet artist Gary Thomas a hometown hero who's painted his way into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And we'll visit with a group that's surfing Lake Erie in the dead of winter. Plus we’ll look at the "Making of an MVP." In the 2008 - 2009 season Cavaliers all-star forward Lebron James was named the NBA's Most Valuable Player. It's a feat that's been chronicled in the new book by Plain Dealer writers Terry Pluto and Brian Windhorst.
