The Hanna Theater at Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio, is beginning a $20 million renovation. Designed in a Renaissance Revival Style, the building is considered one of the most historically and architecturally significant structures in Cleveland. And while the building's limestone façade will remain the same, the interior will undergo a radical interior renovation making it a theater for the 21st century, and becoming the new home of the Great Lakes Theater Festival. Learn more about the renovation from Great Lakes Artistic Director Charlie Fee and Playhouse Square President Art Falco.
There's a small theater that for the past couple of years has been making a lot of noise in downtown Akron. And now the upstart Bang and Clatter Theater Company is taking the show on the road, and opening a second location on Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland near Public Square. The 9,000-square-foot theater is scheduled to open a little later this year, and company co-founders Sean Derry and Sean McConaha join host Dee Perry with more their new venture.
Here at the Idea Center in Playhouse Square in Cleveland, Ohio, we like to showcase the local arts and culture scene on both radio and television. But besides being a broadcast building, the Idea Center is also a place where artists come to create and stage their productions. One such group is Groundworks Dance Theater which is currently in residence here for Playhouse Square's Launch Series.
