Applause is an Emmy award-winning locally produced TV show that celebrates artists and cultural groups around Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. Each week this on-air arts magazine broadcasts a fresh half-hour of features, performances, on-location reports, and interviews from the studios of WVIZ/PBS ideastream. This week on Applause we’ll reveal the plans for a new museum in Cleveland sparked by the idea of fire safety. When you book the jazz quartet Kassaba you always get more than you bargain for... For many rap music conjures up many negative connotations - like drugs and violence - but for one group of teens the music meant much more. It inspired them to change their lives. That experience was all captured on tape as part of a new documentary called the Hip Hop Project. The star of the film, Kasi, was recently in town.
