WVIZ/PBS ideastream®: Applause

Applause is an Emmy award-winning locally produced TV show that celebrates artists and cultural groups around Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. Each week this on-air arts magazine broadcasts a fresh half-hour of features, performances, on-location reports, and interviews from the studios of WVIZ/PBS ideastream. Special thanks to the Oberlin Conservatory of Music at Oberlin College for the use of their Steinway Piano on Around Noon/Applause.

David Cerone, president of the Cleveland Institute of Music, joins Dee Perry to talk about the Institute's expansion project and what it means for the Institute's future. Neal Hamilton - staff photographer for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, also a musician, and painter, shares an inspiring tale describing how his versatility got him through a tragedy. Marking the 20th anniversary of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, APPLAUSE examines the legacy of Dr. King in a conversation with Reverend Dr. Otis Moss, Jr. Pastor of Cleveland's Olivet Institutional Baptist Church. Moss was one King's long time friends, and a fellow civil rights leader.
