Newsmaker: Thomas Zenty III, President & CEO, University Hospitals Health System. The hospital announced major plans this week to expand its facilities on Cleveland's east side. Cornerstone of the one billion dollar plan is a free-standing cancer hospital. Other phases will include makeovers for the hospital's neonatal and emergency departments. The hospital also has expansion plans for its outpatient facilities in the suburbs.

Roundtable panelists: Elizabeth Sullivan, columnist for the Plain Dealer; Stan Bullard, senior reporter, Crain's Cleveland Business; Cindi Deutschman-Ruiz, ideastream reporter.

Residency Requirements: The Ohio House concurs in a Senate bill forbidding cities like Cleveland from requiring their employees to live in the city. Some Ohio cities have such requirements built into their charters. Cleveland officials say they'll ignore the law for now, saying it's a matter for home rule. Eventually, said Mayor Jackson, the city will challenge the law in court.

Church vs. Church: A group of Christian and Jewish religious leaders is asking the IRS to decide if a pair of Columbus-area churches broke rules by appearing to endorse the candidacy of Ken Blackwell for Governor. If the IRS finds against the churches, it's possible they might be subject to taxation. The churches say the challenge is frivolous.

Assisted Suicide: The US Supreme Court this week upheld Oregon's assisted- suicide law which allows patients to give themselves a lethal mix of drugs prescribed by a doctor. Proponents say it's a narrow ruling that won't open the floodgates for a spate of assisted-suicide laws.

Cyber Trash-Talking Goes to Court: After years of taking abuse over the Internet, a Medina man is taking his tormenters to court. He's suing two men, both from out of state, say their insults in an Internet chat room have become more than he can take. He wants money from them and from America Online saying it did nothing to stop them.
