Campbell vs. Jackson: Earlier this month, Cleveland voters narrowed the field of candidates in the Mayor’s race to just two. Incumbent Jane Campbell faces the president of Cleveland City Council, Frank Jackson, who got 4500 more votes than Campbell in the primary and led her in an early poll.
Jane L. Campbell has served since January 2002 as the 55th Mayor of Cleveland. She is seeking her second term. Prior to her election as Mayor, she served in the Ohio House of Representatives and as a Cuyahoga County Commissioner.
Frank Jackson has represented the fifth ward in city council since 1990. It’s the same Kinsman-Central neighborhood in which Jackson has lived his entire life. In 2001 his colleagues elected him president of council.
This week, Mr. Feagler speaks separately with both candidates about their campaigns and their plans for Cleveland’s future.
