WVIZ/PBS ideastream®: Ideas

Ideas is a series of special one-hour programs produced and presented by WVIZ/PBS ideastream®. Topics for each episode are guided by ideastream’s “Listening Project,” a series of surveys, town hall meetings and other community-focused activities. Subjects such as education, the economy and jobs, the environment, economic development, civic affairs, and health and human services are prominently featured. Each Ideas episode also serves as the keystone for a compilation of related programming on 90.3 WCPN, WVIZ/PBS and content on ideastream websites. The goal of this program series is to focus audience attention on an issue or topic of broad community interest. These stories, segments, and entire programs are distinguished by their depth and quality of journalism and the creative storytelling ideastream audiences have come to expect and appreciate.

Ingenuity Festival
If you have even a passing interest in arts and culture, or you believe that they are key components to the economic revitalization of our region, then this week is a banner week in Northeast Ohio. Hendrick Willhelm Van Loon, 20th century historian and journalist once said "the arts are an even better barometer of what is happening in our world than the stock market or the debates in congress." The 3rd Annual Ingenuity Festival is a four-day event where arts and technology meet. The festival runs Thursday through Sunday night along Euclid Avenue between East 14th and East 18th. Set-up has already started - earlier this week, Ingenuity Executive Director James Levin gave us a tour of what's to come.

Cleveland State University CEOs
Most people rarely have the opportunity to have open and frank conversations with the big boss.
This year Cleveland State University hosted an Executive Forum, inviting over 75 alumni who today hold top executive positions. We had the opportunity to sit down with some of Cleveland State's most successful alumni to ask some provocative questions about leadership, character, and personal relationships. Answers ranged from enlightening, informative and sometimes humorous.
