The budget situation in Ohio is bad – much worse than it was expected to be just a few weeks ago. The state’s economic consultants at Global Insight have told the Strickland administration that there’s a 50-50 chance that the economy will slide into recession, and that will have a dramatic impact on the state budget. Karen talks with Gov. Ted Strickland about Ohio’s gloomy economic picture. Karen asks Budget and Management director Pari Sabety how it’s come to this, and she says this economic crisis has been building for a while. And Karen speaks with House Speaker Jon Husted about the latest economic forecasts and the tough financial decisions that will have to be made.
