The Ohio Supreme Court has ruled against strip club owners and dancers, who had hoped for one last chance to have voters decide to allow or reject new rules on topless clubs. And voters also won’t make a choice on overturning a state law that Gov. Strickland tried to veto in his first few moments in office – the law that places limits on the amount plaintiffs can collect in lawsuits against companies that at one time may have manufactured paint containing lead. Karen Gillmor, the widow of Congressman Paul Gillmor will announce next week that she wants to return to the Ohio Senate. State senators have unanimously passed Gov. Strickland’s complex state energy plan. Reports of child abusers and sexual offenders in Ohio’s classrooms moved lawmakers into quick action this week. There was a somewhat extraordinary event this week at the Statehouse – a man was arrested for violating a law that legislators are considering making stronger. That bill is sponsored by Republican Sen. Tim Schaffer of Lancaster, who talks about it. And there are drive thrus for banks, food, dry cleaning, and in Union County…..flu shots. Karen Kasler takes the plunge and checks it out. And we leave you with images from a ceremony honoring four Ohio veterans as chevaliers, France’s highest military honor.
