The State of Ohio is a weekly news program spotlighting the latest happenings at the Statehouse, in the Governor’s office, at the Ohio Supreme Court and throughout the Buckeye State. Award-winning host Karen Kasler presents viewers with unique analysis and thoughtful perspective on important issues of statewide interest through interviews with political leaders, newsmakers, experts and Ohio citizens. Big businesses and consumer group say shocking energy bills could zap Ohioans in the next year. And the governor’s energy plan has had a powerful effect on lawmakers in both parties. Some Democratic lawmakers in the House have put forward their own proposal, and Republicans have been signaling that they’re supportive of the governor’s plan. But there are some Republicans who don’t feel Strickland’s plan goes far enough in some areas. A few of them have come up with an alternative alternative-energy proposal. Republican representative Jim McGregor of Gahanna is here to talk about it.
