It’s the worst flooding in a century in some parts of Ohio. Meanwhile, people in central and southern Ohio suffered through heat as temperatures climbed to near record-breaking numbers. There were mixed grades for public schools in the state department of education’s annual report card, but the scores for charter schools were decidedly negative. Dr. Mitchell Chester, the senior associate superintendent for policy and accountability, talks about the scores for charter schools. Ohio is only one of two states that still have community or mayor’s courts, where traffic violations and misdemeanors are fought out.
