Applause is an Emmy award-winning locally produced TV show that celebrates artists and cultural groups around Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. Each week this on-air arts magazine broadcasts a fresh half-hour of features, performances, on-location reports, and interviews from the studios of WVIZ/PBS ideastream. There's a new exhibit at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History addressing an issue that impacts our lives everyday - RACE. It asks the question, are we so different? Joining Dee Perry with the answer to this and other probing questions is Marie Graf, director of marketing at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History.

Justo Saborit has created a sound that's not only very distinct but refreshing, whether you're listening to his Latin jazz program Saturday nights on 107.3 The Wave, or hearing him play his own brand of Cuban soul with the Saborit Latin Soul Band. With the release of his third CD, Agua Y Fuego, Clevelander Justo Saborit spices things up with sounds from his birthplace of Havana. Plus, he adds a pinch of jazz, a dash of soul, and a sprinkle of R&B. Justo, his son Adrian, and his Latin Soul Band joins Dee Perry for a performance.

Andrew Borowiec places himself squarely in the tradition of American landscape photographers seeking to reveal the truth about a place. His latest book, Cleveland: The Flats, the Mill and the Hills explores the once-vibrant industrial epicenter of Cleveland known as the flats. Today the mighty steel mills, warehouses and factories that fueled our economy sit empty as a quiet reminder of great loss and possible rebirth. Borowiec will join Dee Perry to speak more about Cleveland's landscape.

Imagine making a twenty-by-twenty-five foot mosaic out of tiny tiles... well, that's just what Dollar Bank had commissioned for the company's logo at their new headquarters in downtown Cleveland. We'll take a look this week on Applause.
