Water Monitoring has been going on for a long time. This testing collects data that is used to determine if the water in a river, lake, or stream is good or bad. Good water helps everything in a water source to live.

Students can do water quality testing as long as you follow protocols. Protocols are directions on taking water samples and reading the results. Many agencies are getting help from lots of different people.

 

People are instructed how to take the water sample and do the tests and then they enter their data into a website. To view the data collected from a specific location by your class as well others, go to the database.
Everyone should be concerned about the quality of their water. When people work together, doing the water testing, we are helping to monitor water quality everywhere.
