WVIZ/PBS is contracted by the eTech OHIO Commission as one of Ohio's eight educational technology agencies, which provide Instructional Television and creates educational opportunities for primary and secondary schools through new technology. WVIZ/PBS provides services to many school districts in an eleven county area ranging from Ashtabula to Sandusky and south to Mansfield.
As an educational technology agency, WVIZ/PBS provides at no charge to participating K-12 districts the following services:
- not less than 880 hours of instructional programming to member schools.
- one program schedule for each teacher, appropriate teacher resource guides, and basic utilization services
- periodic information on current and upcoming instructional TV programs and on the services and activities of the educational service department of WVIZ/PBS.
