1. On Monday in Washington DC, truckers who rely on transportation
to make their living protested high gas prices. About 350 vehicles
drove past the Capitol and White House, blasting their horns,
hoping Congress will regulate trucker fees and stop aiding big
oil companies. Each presidential candidate has vowed to do something
about gas prices. Senator Barack Obama wants to make sure that
whatever they decide to do will actually help. Bob Lee has decided
to ride his horse to work. He says not a single day goes by that
his co-workers aren't complaining about the expense of gasoline.
Bob knows his one-man protest won't make a huge difference, but
maybe it will save him a few dollars - and keep his horse exercised!

2. One group of activists has found a unique way of spreading
the green word on the road. Home for this quartet of eco-activists
is a bus that's touring the country to spread a message of sustainability.
They call their effort "bio tour." They are taking their
message to college students and anyone else who will listen. The
bus itself is an example of sustainability. It runs on biodiesel
and used vegetable oil.

3. Virginia's governor took a look at tornado damage in the southern
part of the state on Monday. Three tornadoes ripped through southern
Virginia Sunday, destroying homes and reducing peoples’
livelihoods to rubble. Thankfully no one was killed, but more
than 200 hundred people were injured in Suffolk, Virginia, the
hardest hit area where a funnel cloud touched down and went on
a 25-mile rampage. The governor has declared a state of emergency
for the hardest hit areas. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/weather/04/29/virg

4. On Monday, a rocket lifted off in southern India carrying
ten satellites into space. The launch signifies India's desire
to be a player in space exploration, which has been dominated
by the U.S., Russia, and Europe. India is also working on a rocket

in dust, dirt, and a lot sand. It's a mess! Eunice Yoon shows

6. This school year, marketing students at Beachwood High School
- part of the Junior Achievement program - embarked on the ultimate
"green dream." Last Friday, their dream culminated as
they showcased sixty area businesses and organizations that illustrate
how easy it is to be green. They hope their eco-showcase will
ignite a new sense of excitement in the community about ways to
go green. The students plan to use the proceeds from their Green
Dream Showcase to design the "ultimate green classroom,"
which they hope will become the model for green classrooms across
the state of Ohio.

7. Three female chimpanzees from Cleveland Metroparks Zoo arrived
safely Friday night at their new home - the Knoxville Zoo. Animal
keepers from both zoos accompanied Binti, Bo and Jackie on their
twelve-hour road trip from Cleveland to Knoxville, Tennessee.
The three chimps are in routine quarantine before they join Knoxville's
six chimpanzees - including Jimbo, who was their longtime companion
at the Cleveland Zoo. Jimbo was moved to Knoxville in 2006. The
chimps will be able to enjoy a larger habitat and a spacious outdoor
exhibit.

when they saw a strange-looking animal in the middle of the road.
Nicco Phillips and Lexie Eads found what they thought looked like
a giant guinea pig. Nicco was hoping the unusual animal was some
sort of kangaroo. It turns that the animal is a Patagonian cavy,
a large rodent native to central and southern Argentina. The cavy’s
