Graduate Credits
All payment for course fees and graduate credit should be made out payable to WVIZ/PBS ideastream and sent to WVIZ/PBS. Please do not send forms and/or payment directly to the university.
General Instructions for Graduate Credit through WVIZ/PBS ideastream®
We now have all graduate credit forms posted online. Please take the time to read these instructions carefully, as it will assist you throughout the graduate credit process. Please download and fill out the form for the university of your choice below. (Please note that credit for our Online Book Discussion Groups is only available through Ashland University and The University of Akron.)
All graduate credit forms are due in to WVIZ/PBS ideastream by one week after the start date of the course. Unfortunately, no late graduate credit can be accepted. Once a learner has registered for graduate credit, that learner is responsible for completing the requirements of the course, just as in a regular graduate credit course. WVIZ/PBS cannot withdraw requests for graduate credit once they are submitted.
We offer graduate credit through the following universities:
* Ashland University (Pass/Fail Credit)
* The University of Akron (Pass/Fail Credit)
* Notre Dame College (Pass/Fail Credit)
Please do the following:
1. Print out the applicable form and fill it out, or fill it out online and save it.
2. Pay by credit card. Graduate credit will only be processed after full payment is received.
3. Send in your paperwork by emailing the form as an attachment to: , or by faxing it to (216) 916-6365.

All graduate credit paperwork MUST be received by WVIZ/PBS ideastream by the seventh day after the course start date. Graduate credit paperwork that is received without payment will not be processed.

Out of state graduate credit is only available through Ashland University.
Graduate Credit Cost
For PBS TeacherLine Courses, graduate credit is available at the cost of $130 for a one-credit course, $260 for a two-credit course, and $390 for a three-credit course. These are semester hour graduate credits, and is in addition to the course fee. For Online Book Discussion Groups, graduate credit is offered through Ashland University for $186 for a one-credit course and The University of Akron at the cost of $130 per credit.
The total cost for the course fee and the graduate credit is as follows:
One-credit PBS TeacherLine courses: $129 - $159 for the course + $130 for graduate credit = from $259 - $306 total (depending on the course.)
Two-credit PBS TeacherLine courses: $200 for the course fee + $260 for graduate credit = $460 total.
Three-credit PBS TeacherLine courses: $300 for the course fee + $390 for graduate credit = $690 total.
One-credit Online Book Discussion Group courses: $120 for the course fee + $186 for the graduate credit = $306 total through Ashland University. OR $120 for the course fee + $130 for the graduate credit = $250 through The University of Akron.
Obtaining Transcripts
Following the conclusion of the course, you will need to obtain your transcript from the university of your choice. A transcript will not be automatically sent to you. Please contact them directly to receive your transcript. The information below will help you contact them. Be advised we need three to four weeks to process the graduate credit, as do the colleges.
Ashland University
Their transcript form is available here. They have a charge of $4.00 per transcript.
Transcripts should be available within around 4 weeks of the completion date of the course.
The University of Akron
Their transcript information is available here. They offer free transcripts.
Transcripts are available at the conclusion of the semester in which the graduate credit is taken.
Notre Dame College
