The Lantern Festival marks the end of the Lunar New Year, and is an occasion for family and friends to get together and have fun. In southeast China's Fujiang province, a display had thousands of lanterns in different shapes and colors. In Shanghai, visitors were treated to more modern-looking lanterns that advertised the upcoming World Expo. And in Wuhan, in central China's Hubei province, they held a dragon dance contest, with dance groups and drum-and-gong groups performing and competing.
