Course Description:
"The Future of Life" by Edward O. Wilson is a fact-filled, data-driven, passionate look into the future of our biological heritage. Wilson provides examples of our impact on the flora and fauna - both discovered and otherwise. The central theme of the book centers on human impact on Earth's biosphere in the past and currently. Wilson calls for immediate, decisive action to conserve what we have and provides a solution to preserve our natural world.
The NATURE Club Book Discussion offers educators a means to familiarize themselves with current information and resources on issues affecting the plants, animals, and the environment in which they live in. The participants will discuss what industry leaders have researched from resources that are varied and applicable to their current teaching situation. The environment and all of the peripherals effect jobs, income, living habits and what we discuss in the classroom.

Graduate credit for PBS TeacherLine courses is $130 for a one-credit course, $260 for a two-credit course, or $390 for a three-credit course.
Graduate credit for Online Book Discussion Groups is $130 for a one-credit course through The University of Akron or $186 for a one-credit course through Ashland University.
All graduate credit is pass/fail. Transcripts are available from Ashland University approximately 4 weeks after the course ends. Transcripts are available from the University of Akron and Notre Dame College ONLY at the end of the semester (May, August, or December.) Upon completion of the course, please request a transcript directly from the university – links are provided on our graduate credit page.
