There is a tall stain glass window
in the First Congregational Church, maybe 15 or 20 feet high
of David, whose name means “beloved,” holding his
shepherd’s harp pointing north…the direction the
freedom seekers traveled on the Underground Railroad. The inscription
at the bottom says: in memory of the founders and their
anti-slavery friends. The sunlight shines through this
beautiful window in the year 2005 with a pledge to honor those
courageous founders and their anti-slavery friends.
Wow!
