I did not feel well today. Tired, and bothered by the neuropathy caused by my spinal stenosis. I stayed in bed and my friend Linette pampered me with homemade soup.

She is a good cook and everything is flavored with fresh herbs and vegetables that she raises in her large garden and the small greenhouse that she built.

Linette’s chickens and goat are treated like all of their dogs and cats. All of animals on their farm are loved like pets. Linette and her husband Randy talk to the animals and the animals all talk back. The goats come to the fence and seem to be either asking for the news of the day or telling how much they missed Randy and Linette.

I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis three days before I was to begin the last part of my long walk. The neurosurgeon said my MRI result meant that it could be dangerous for me to finish the walk.

But I did. I completed the walk from Edinboro, Pennsylvania to St. Catharines, Canada.

Do you know what neuropathy means? Stenosis? Find these words in the dictionary or ask someone for the definition.

Why did I go ahead with my walk to Canada? How did I do it in spite of the sudden and scary diagnosis? What do you think?
