Our grassroots organization, RESTORE CLEVELAND HOPE will make that restoration dream come true. We will turn Cozad-Bates House into an Underground Railroad teaching center, we are already working on the organizing and fundraising plans. And because Cleveland was such a vital Underground Railroad station, we will be able to celebrate the city’s history and invite tourists as well as students to explore and learn. City’s like Springboro, Oberlin, Ashtabula, and Ripley have inspired me. We can do it. There is a lot of work to do but we already have a wonderfully large and eager core of neighbors from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland State University, little Italy, Hessler Road, Fairfax and Glenville as well as people from beyond the Cleveland area who have been part of my IN THEIR PATH walk.
For today’s Teleconference Hunter, Fran and I got a chance to talk about Ashtabula and about Cleveland’s efforts to the distance learning audience and to the Jefferson students in the studio.
