I always feel better when I get a chance to walk on a regular basis. And walking has not been possible with the Freedom Quest schedule. When I am home I wake early and walk before breakfast. I have a routine and a pleasant route, from my front porch down toward the lake, i.e. Lake Erie. It does not take long for me to get out of shape and of course the fact that I have stopped in at Sips, Mt. Vernon’s coffee shop for delicious hot peach pie with ice cream almost every day this week probably has not been the healthiest routine.

It will take me a couple of weeks to get back to walking four or five miles easily when I get back home.

Today I got a chance to walk along a beautiful stretch of the Kokosing Trail with my friends Florine White, who was one of my hosts (and driver too) when I walked to Mt Vernon, a new friend Jaquelyn Johnson and Linette. This is part of the Rails to Trails system that converts old unused railroad beds to hiking and biking. What a great re-use for all Ohioans and visitors. Is there a Rails to Trails path in your town?

We all went for ice cream (no pie) at Curtis Dairy. Later I had a relaxing massage. A wonderful gift from Jackie, a licensed masseuse.
