Cleveland Laughs

Northeast Ohio viewers are invited to join in a celebration of everything that’s funny about Cleveland. The premiere of the locally produced television special Cleveland Laughs airs on WVIZ/PBS Wednesday, January 28 at 10pm, with an encore broadcast Saturday, January 31 at 11pm.

In collaboration with the first-ever Cleveland Comedy Festival - held in the Westfield Insurance™ Studio Theatre at Idea Center® at PlayhouseSquare in November - WVIZ/PBS created the only TV show from the event. This one hour program includes the best of the festival’s final night of stand-up, highlighting comedians from the Northeast Ohio area.

Cleveland Laughs is hosted by Majic 105.7’s Jimmy Malone and features some of the most accomplished and funniest comedians from Cleveland including national headliners Mike Veneman, Mike Cheselka, Marc Jaffe, John Rathbone, Basile and Quinn Patterson.

Laugh along with Cleveland Laughs January 28 at 10pm, following the final installment of the PBS series Make ‘Em Laugh, which begins at 8pm on WVIZ/PBS.

The Cleveland Comedy Festival organizers are hosting a party at Bogey’s Comedy Club in Willoughby, Wednesday, January 28 beginning with impromptu stand-up and finishing with a big screen viewing of Cleveland Laughs.  Plans are already underway for next year’s Cleveland Comedy Festival. More information is available here.

Funding for Cleveland Laughs is made possible by a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture and by members of WVIZ/PBS.
