Giant Eagle Inc., ranked 32 on Forbes magazine’s largest private corporations list and past recipient of Progressive Grocer’s Retailer of the Year Award and the EPA’s ENERGY STAR Retail Partner of the Year Award, is one of the nation’s largest food retailers and food distributors with approximately $6.2 billion in annual sales.

Founded in 1931, Giant Eagle, Inc. has grown to be the number one supermarket retailer in the region with 156 corporate and 69 independently owned and operated supermarkets in addition to more than 128 fuel and convenience stores throughout western Pennsylvania, Ohio, north central West Virginia and Maryland.

In addition to a wide variety of the region’s freshest and high quality produce, meat, and seafood, Giant Eagle customers enjoy products and services ranging from convenience stores and fuel stations to dry cleaning, and on-site supervised child learning and activity centers. Giant Eagle also offers other convenient services including video rental, in-store banking, on-site film laboratories and floral shops.

An active community partner, Giant Eagle provides support for local food banks, community events, the United Way, The Salvation Army, Race For The Cure and other non-profit organizations. The company has also created education initiatives such as Apples For The Students, which has provided millions of dollars in computer equipment, software and other classroom learning tools for local schools and the Be A Smart Shopper school nutrition program.

The Cleveland Airport System exists to serve as an economic catalyst for the City of Cleveland, and the entire Northeast Ohio region. The Airport System drives growth and development through the attraction and retention of businesses to the region, with a projected economic impact in excess of $4 billion in 2006. In addition to the 378 persons directly employed by the Airport System, more than 9,100 additional persons are employed in positions directly related to air, airfield and terminal operations (airline personnel, refueling, food services, etc.), and airport activity generates more than 29,000 regional jobs.

The Cleveland Airport System strives to be “best in class” in both customer service and facilities. This effort encompasses all aspects of what the Airport System does, including services and facilities provided directly by the Airport System, as well as those provided by its business partners.

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) is dedicated to a high level of customer satisfaction. In order to help provide superior customer service, CLE implemented an Airport Ambassador Volunteer Program. The program allows volunteers — many of whom have had successful careers in a variety of fields — to provide information and assistance to travelers and their families, friends and business associates as they visit CLE.

The Airport Ambassadors are easily identifiable by their gold jackets and friendly smiles, and are the first to welcome travelers to and from Cleveland. They assist passengers in locating arrival and departure gates, parking areas, security checkpoints, baggage claim locations and airport concourses. They can also provide the names of area hotels, dining and shopping establishments, as well as area attractions and points of interest in and around Cleveland. Airport Ambassadors conduct tours of the Airport and welcome delegates who attend conventions in Cleveland.

The City of Cleveland owns and operates Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (CLE) and Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport (BKL). The two airports together constitute the Cleveland Airport System. Together, they are committed to offering safe and efficient air service to the traveling public, and world-class hospitality in their clean and welcoming facilities.
