Rachel Hawkins, New Knoxville: I really
liked the Mesopotamia part. The cool thing is my class had just
learned about it in Social Studies. We had talked about Babylon,
Hammurabi, and Nebuchadnezzar II in class. That was a weird coincidence.
Miss Amon’s 7th period class, Findlay
High School: We really enjoyed the segment about Tillman the skateboarding
dog. Is he the dog that is on a TV commercial for floor covering?
We would love for him to come to our school and skateboard down
the hallways! We wish our dogs could skateboard, too.
Jessica Jackson, B.L. Miller Elementary:
I really liked the bones. I thought they were so cool. It must
take forever to dig all those holes. The skeleton was cool but
kinda scared me. Perfect for Halloween!
Kylie Shields, B.L. Miller Elementary:
That dog on the skateboard was awesome. I have never seen a dog
skateboard before. Wow, I wish my dog could do that but he is
too big. That was my favorite part of the video. That was cool!
Rondez Coston, Clovernook Elementary: The
story I am writing about is Big Red the kitten stuck in the sewer.
It is nice that the fire department would go through all that
trouble just to get that kitten. They had to do it because if
the owner would have tried, she would have probably got hurt.
I think it is COOL that they named the cat Big Red!
Micah Macklin, Clovernook Elementary: The
story about the H1N1 vaccine is so scary. I hope they get it done
on time. This is the one and only time I want a shot. I really
think the FDA should study the things about the insect cells,
because it could be dangerous. So right now the chicken eggs are
best.
Delia Grantham, Montrose Elementary: I
loved the story about the kitten named Big Red. Even though it
was sad it was still very good. I am so glad that lady saw her
or she might still be trapped! It is so amazing that a kitten
actually got caught in a storm drain. It was very nice of the
fire men to get dive gear on and get her out. Also, I love its
new name, Big Red.
Reece Wilson, Montrose: NASA’s space
ship is the coolest ship ever. I love space ships and I love science.
Maybe I can be an astronaut when I grow up.
Daziah Turner, Clovernook: WOW!! I cannot
believe Tillman! A dog that reads, a horse that can count, elephant
car washes, and now a dog that can skateboard! That is kind of
AWESOME when you think about it. He could be the dog version of
Tony Hawk (Tony Dog). Go Tillman!
Amanda Paisley, Clovernook Elementary:
I love the skateboarding dog. We’ve seen a counting horse,
an elephant that washes cars, a spelling dog, and NOW a skateboarding
dog. What could be next!? He has his own agent and RV, he might
as well have his own new skateboard! I really want my own dog
and skateboard. Again, Tillman is very cool!
Maureese Pruitt, Clovernook Elementary:
I can’t believe what I just saw! I think that I-X rocket
is the biggest rocket I’ve ever seen! I wonder how many
people can fit in the nose cone. I bet if it would take off somewhere
in Cincinnati, it would probably feel like an earthquake.
Johnathan Polace, Ledgeview Elementary:
I thought the skateboarding bulldog was so cool! I saw a video
showing how to teach your dog to skate board. My puppy loves playing
with my basketball. I'm sure he'll love skateboarding. I wonder
how the bulldog would do on a half pipe.
Talia Naylor, Ledgeview Elemenary: I think
that it was so cool that that dog holds the Guinness World Record
for fastest dog on a skateboard! If I had a dog like that I would
be so proud of him. I Would let the whole world know about my
dog. The funny thing is that it would be the dog that was famous
not me. I would have so much fun with my dog. I would host very
many dog races. Even I would try to race my dog! I would name
my dog Super-Speed! That story was really cool!"
Eric Heidenthal, Mayfield High School:
I am glad that the cat is safe with a new owner. I was worried
about the cat getting stuck in the sewers. I will save the cat
if it ever gets stuck again!
Hi My Name is Zach Rominske and I am a
sixth grader at Barlow-Vincent Elementary School in Vincent, Ohio.
I loved the story about the dog who skate boards. I just got my
own dog, Oscar, and want to teach him how to skate board. I wish
my dog could do that. I also enjoyed the story about the cat under
the highway. It is great to learn about talented animals.
Devin Hagler, Huntington Elementary: Today
my class watched Newsdepth about the H1N1 subject, and when I
saw that boy get the shot, I could not look! I can not see others
get shots! I hate shots. I know they will help me when I am sick
but they really hurt! Who likes shots? I know I don't! Ahhhh!
Alyssa Eyster, Adena Elementary: I think
it is so cool that they found part of a Mesopotamia village. It
would be amazing to be an archaeologist who helped dig up the
artifacts. My class divided into groups and pretended we were
the ancient society. We made artifacts to bury. After that we
dug up another group’s artifacts and pieced together their
society. It was fun!
Hi, I’m Fosh Trout from Meadowlawn
School in Sandusky. I think it is really sad how all those birds
got caught in those algae. I also think that it is really nice
that those people are trying to help. It must be really bad algae
if it does that to birds.
Shane Held-Goloja, Huntington Elementary:
I liked the stories about the birds and the cat. The bird story
was sad until people were interested in helping. I hope the birds
are doing well. I also thought the cat “Big Red” was
cute. Thanks to the firefighters, the cat is now in a good home.
I’m sure the owner is a good, responsible person.
Christian Harwood, St. Paul School: I liked
the catapult. I wonder if they made it of if they bought it. If
they bought it, I would like to go there and buy one too. If I
had one I would launch pumpkins and other stuff.
Benjamin Nist, St. Paul School: I can't
believe that the cat's owner did not call about a missing cat.
I have two cats and if one of then got lost I would try to find
it. I think that lady has a good heart for saving that cat.
Lane Yerrick, Greentown Elementary: That
was so cool how they found the mud brick village! I can't believe
the vases and the village are two thousand years old! Man that
is old! WOW 600 artifacts that is a lot. They have to be really
careful not to break the artifacts. The vases look like they were
just made!! That is so weird that they found the skeleton and
the feet bones were separate. I wonder if they will find more
things.
Hannah Schlemmer, St. Jude School: I liked
the story about Tillman, the bulldog with the skateboarding world
record. It's hard to believe that the dog learned to skateboard
when he was just 8 months old! I'd like to see the dog skateboard
in real life. I hope to see Tillman in the Guinness Book of World
Records.
Shayna Bierlein, New Knoxville School District:
It is sad that those sea birds had to go through those algae.
It must have hurt. I'm glad most of them made it. Those people
who helped those birds should be proud of themselves. Hopefully
someday I can get a chance to volunteer. Thank you for your time.
Austin Jacobs: I think it's cool they found the capsule. It is
creepy that the feet are not in the capsule. It surprised me that
they found that capsule. I wonder if that skeleton is a he or
a she?? Speaking of skeletons, I don't really like Halloween or
candy but my little brother and sister do. I like newsdepth-see
you next time!
Meghan, from Crestwood Intermediate School:
Wow! That dog on that skateboard. That was cool. I wish my dog
can do that. What is his name? My dog’s name is Zoey. How
fast can he go? Can he go faster than 32 mph? Where was it in,
Texas? Was it in the Alamo? My aunt went there last week.
Brendan Bowling, Cuayahoga Hts. Middle
School: I'm glad they are helping those birds. Those harmful algae
must be very difficult to the birds. I hope they get well soon!
Alex: OMG! I thought it was sooo nice of
those people to help the birds. If I could do that I would feel
GREAT! I thought that it was really nice of them. I hope I get
a chance to do that some day!!!!!!!!
Jacob Kuchta: This week’s episode
was really cool. I especially liked the story about the ancient
ruins in Mesopotamia. Does anyone know why their feet were outside
the casket? Could it be an ancient ritual, or could it have been
religious?
Bella, Kitty Hawk Elementary: I liked when
the dog was skateboarding. It was really funny and the dog is
really, really cute.
Devon, Kitty Hawk Elementary: I liked that
dog who skateboards really fast. Then, he rammed into the wall.
Then, he got on again and kept riding the skateboard. I want you
to see if that dog has roller skates.
Emily Knasel, Northwood: I liked the story
about the kitten. He must have been starving. If I were Big Red
I’d be scared too. I also think that lady deserves him.
It’s also nice that she told someone and didn’t just
let it stay there. Big Red was awfully brave.
Zac Cook, Northwood: I love your show.
The part I liked was the skateboarding dog. Hang on dog! I am
in 5th grade. I also liked the kitten. Poor kitty! I also have
a cat named Fuzzball.
Travis Cilik, Mayfield Center: I thought
the H1N1 vaccine story was very interesting! Hopefully soon doctors
will give the vaccine to everyone. I don’t think anyone
would want to get the swine flu.
Cameron Anderson, Meadowlawn Elementary:
That story about the manatees. It would be really cool to take
care of manatees. They look so friendly. I don't think they would
harm anybody unless they had to. I thought that the special container
for the manatees was really cool. If I were a manatee I'd be having
so much fun in Tampa.
Abigail Palmer, St. Jude School: Wow! I
love the story about Tillman, the skateboarding dog. I think it's
amazing that a dog could be so famous and have an agent. I wonder
how the owner felt the first time Tillman discovered his talent.
I am curious if Tillman wears a helmet and other protective gear
when he is skateboarding outside.
Celestina Boesche, New Knoxville: Wow!
I thought that was cool that the dog could skate. I wonder how
he does it so fast. I wish I could have him as a pet. Maybe he
could teach me how to skateboard because I have no idea.
Noah Henry, Meadowlawn: I think it was
sad that kitten got stuck in the sewer & I also think the
kitten could of got really hurt when it got stuck. I hope I never
catch the
H1N1 virus because I would get really sick & I couldn't go
to school. I think the artifacts they found in Iraq were very
cool & really interesting to see all the old vases.
Macie Bing Meadowlawn Elementary I feel
really bad for that kitten that got stuck on the Miami State highway.
I also loved the dog on the skate board. I wish my dog could do
that. I wonder how the guy taught the dog to do that. That’s
funny the dog rides on the street with the skate board. That guy
should get a cat to do that, it would be really cute and cool
and funny!!!!
My name is Isaiah. I go to Rushwood Elementary
and I think it was sad how those birds would have been dead if
you guys wouldn’t have saved them even though some of them
had died I think it was nice how you saved some.
Ashley Scott, New Knoxville: WOW! That
is awesome that they found all of those artifacts! I would love
to work there and find the artifacts. I can not believe that they
found vases about 200bc and 200ad that is awesome! If I found
that grave site I wound SCREAM if I found that skeleton! That
would be SCARY!
Mariah Wittmer, Meadowlawn Intermediate
School: The story about the seabirds was really interesting! It
was very nice of all of the volunteers who came and helped wash
the algae foam off of all those birds! I wish I could have been
there to help out. I love to help animals and I also love volunteering.
I think people need to make sure they look out for things like
the foam algae on the shore so this doesn't happen again.
